The company is a long-established metalworking company which specialises in the design and manufacture of metal cladding systems and ancillary products.

The company is based in East Kilbride in Scotland and currently supplies its products throughout the UK and Ireland.

The company has established itself as a market leader in the field of ventilated metal facades, a growing niche market which particularly suits current construction trends towards lightweight and fast building methods.

The company wishes to expand both in the UK and in export markets, and recognises the opportunities in the UAE region. The market has been carefully appraised by the companie’s directors and the company has decided to employ an International Business Manager to assist in the development of this market.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The International Business Manager will promote the sales of cladding systems by obtaining architectural specifications for the use of such systems on projects in the UAE. In addition, arrangements will require to be formed with cladding contractors to ensure that they are willing and able to install the systems. These contractors are often able to choose the cladding systems to be used and so are an alternative sales opportunity to architectural specification.

The Manager will have to engage the support of the companies UK design and estimating departments to assist in properly designing and tendering for projects and will have the direct responsibility for progressing tenders to order stage and for negotiations during that process. Marketing of the systems will also be the Manager’s responsibility and will include seminars and arrangement of direct and indirect methods.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The applicant should have good knowledge on the construction industry and it would be helpful if some facade experience was also available. Experience of the markets in UAE would be beneficial but not essential.

The ability to work remotely and be self-motivating is essential. The employment would be based in the region, probably Dubai, and the Manager would be based there full-time.

Although the company will provide training in its systems and products, the ability to understand technical and construction drawings is essential as is the ability to assist specifiers in choice of product and detail. Appointment for this position will be as soon as possible.
